Gina started her artistic career at the age of 5 when she felt inspired to draw all over her older sisters newly painted bedroom walls. Despite her sister’s declaration of revenge, Gina received raved reviews from her toys.
Gina doodled on most of her homework throughout her life. As an adult Gina graduated from the School of Visual arts with a BFA in Film and Animation. There she had an internship with the renowned Carl Palino Studios (Celebrity Death Match, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Various TV shows, Movies, Commercials and Theater). Carl Palino created AMC’s (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead) stopmotion series The Wrong Coast. There, Gina created puppets, fabricated sets & props.
Gina opened Betty Spaghetti School of Art and Debauchery & Meetup group in Midtown Manhattan. She taught children, adults, elderly and individuals with disabilities from AHRC to create art in unconventional ways. Fun and unexpected classes like "Talking to Strangers" and "A Perfect Place for a Murder" is what lead her to work with the extraordinary people at AHRC.
As a AHRC Community Support Professional she inspires individuals with mental and physical disabilities to be eaten by Zombies in the Walking Dead Escape, teaches children with Autism on how to ride horses with GallopNYC, how to apply face makeup to look like Zombies (who will eventually chase the GallopNYC children learning how to ride horses), create a Clothing Library, design greeting cards for the recipients of Meals-on-Wheels, cook a Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of August, and how to scare off muggers by yelling in Sicilian.
Although Gina no longer draws on her sister's walls, she has extended her palette of choice to important documents, certificates and passports. Currently Gina does freelance work in stopmotion animation, creating logos and illustrations.
